  1. Congratulations to you (and nutella!) on your acceptances! I just wanted to say woah @ 72 hours, that's pretty ridiculous.
  2. My SGS just changed to "decision made" as well! My delivery address is in Toronto since that's where my permanent address is so I'm bothering my mom so much about mail checking, she's being a good sport though!
  3. I just wanted to throw in the mix that I was accepted into the 2 year with a pretty big grade disadvantage, but really impressive experience so I'm not sure that "highest scoring" is a thing (given that I'm SURE that I wouldn't score most highly given my grades). It really seems that they're taking a holistic approach to acceptances, just as they claim they do. So just a word of comfort if you're worried about your grades for U of T, it's not necessarily going to make or break your U of T decision--they're really looking at everything.
  4. In case y'all were wondering, my status still says "under review" on the SGS. Sending good vibes all of your ways!
  5. I just checked my status and saw that I was invited to the 2-year MSW program and I cannot believe this is my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And can barely breathe, oh my god
  6. Congrats to those who have been accepted! To those of you who have been invited to the U of T 2 year, does your status on the graduate application still say "under review" or "decision made"?
  7. For those applying to 2-year @ U of T and are worried about their marks not being up to snuff, I got this email from Angela: Hello, I am responding to your message. The average GPA for the admitted class in 2014 was high B+ to A- We certainly accept applicants in the B+ range. Keep in mind that the committee is reviewing the complete application – academic history; references; statement and work/volunteer experience. Thank you for your interest in our programs. Best regards, Angela Umbrello Administrative Coordinator, Admissions & Programs Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto
  8. All the feels! So glad it helped you!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I really appreciate you clarifying thank you! I was already looking into courses I could take via correspondence to bump the mark if I don't get in.
  10. I've been looking for ways to cope with the anxiety brought on by the prospect of not getting accepted (I've never wanted anything so badly in my life.) Just now, I made an intensive list of everything I could do with a year off for both personal growth as well as academic benefit for future applications (i.e. finally read the entire harry potter series (I haven't, don't judge), take up regular meditation, have months to focus on writing amazing mission statements for next round of applications, etc.). Writing the list was the first thing that helped me feel better about the idea of not getting in, which I have to accept is a very possible reality. I just thought I'd share because I think it's a very valuable exercise if this application process is really getting to you as it is to me!
  11. Sooooo...this whole U of T 2-year offers going out beginning at mid-March news has me frazzled. I know that some people haven't heard from U of T's Advanced Standing program yet, has anyone determined a pattern (if there is one)? Like if they're making offers alphabetically or something? Trying to gauge my likelihood of hearing earlier or not, if it's at all possible. I thoughtfully considered quitting this forum so I wouldn't be freaking out when other people start getting their decisions whilst my status stays the same, but I just don't have the willpower!
  12. It's weird, when I thought about U of T's 2-Year MSW accepting 20% of applicants I felt optimistic, and then when I read it framed that they reject 80% I started feeling really discouraged #waitinggameproblems
  13. Apparently the deal was rejected and there is a strike, my facebook is exploding with angry U of T-ers D:
  14. In other news how about that gold and white dress #waitinggamedistractions
  15. Your calculated GPA is limited to your last 8-10 half credits (4-5 full credits), so only your final year will go into the calculation. Obviously they have your transcript so they can see the CGPA but it shouldn't be a factor in their decision (at least at U of T) My friend who also applied to the U of T emailed Angela, and Angela said that the average admission GPA for the 2 year MSW 2014 class was high B+ to low A-. Not gonna lie though, I'm a bit paranoid that she gave that grade range to encourage applications, because $$$. But who knows.
  16. As far as everything I've ever heard goes, it sounds like you have most definitely been accepted! Congratulations!!!
  17. I don't know if anyone has answered this yet (I don't think so, but sorry if it is redundant!). Can the people who have been accepted into Advanced Standing @ U of T clarify if their ROSI accounts have been updated, and also if the original graduate application page says "decision made"? Congrats to everyone who have received offers!!!!!!!!!
  18. @soapaddict, yeah I think so, they get a lot of applications!
  19. @soapaddict, unfortunately like many things nowadays I got in strictly via connections I had made through my volunteer work, sorry I can't be of more help! Since it's arguably the best mental health hospital in Canada, competition for positions is stiff and I imagine a lot of qualified applicants are turned away and that many people are overqualified for the positions that they do acquire. I wouldn't take it personally, and you can always reapply and hope for the best this time around!
  20. @rachelmsw Can't speak for all of them but U of T 2-year is typically mid April!
  21. The wait is so brutal, how are you guys managing? I think I may lose my mind.
