[Funding from UGA]

Has anyone heard about funding from UGA MA in political science and international affairs? I'm hearing we won't find out until May. Any past applicants out there?

Yep, I called first thing this a.m. and found out. Letters should go out soon. When I called the PoliSci Dept. she said she was editing mine right then -- wierd! Anyway, heres hoping for funding! Congrats you guys!

Has anyone heard back from UGA's graduate programs in political science and international affairs?

I checked my application status and the Latest Decision says "Applicant Accepted Offer"

I know that I didnt accept any offer and it seems a bit too early. Im assuming its an error, but maybe I can just not say anything and theyll let me attend ? Just kidding.. thanks for any input!

[Switching fields from english to political science]

Thanks yall! I did one direct admit PhD application (but youre eligible for the MA if denied from the PhD.) and two masters (one international affairs and one polisci). I didnt have time to redo my gre for a higher quant. Score so I might have to try again next year.

My reccomenders are history and english profs because they have worked with me most closely.

[Switching fields from english to political science]

I was an english lit undergrad, and now I want to switch gears and get a Masters in Political Science/ International Affairs. I would like to do NGO work and then continue on in academics later.

Im wondering how common it is to switch into polical science from such a different undergrad major. I have study abroad experience and relevant Volunteer Work to demonstrate my interest.

Thoughts?

I have one rec that Im waiting on hours before the application is due. I even gave my recommender an earlier date than it was actually due, and Im still waiting. The due date for the app falls on a Saturday. Do you think her rec will still be accepted if it gets in this weekend?

Also, I spoke with her yesterday and she agreed to do it first thing in the morning. Its 8 pm. Should I send another reminder? I dont want to tarnish the relationship with a great professor.
