Iliff School of Theology was my only outright acceptance, it looks like I'll be headed there this Fall. Does anyone know any Iliff Ph.D. students I might contact to get a sense for things like campus life, academic rigor, financial questions, etc?
I don't know of any but I will anxiously watch your thread. I am trying to decide between Iliff and Union (NYC). I know plenty at Union but none at Iliff!

How did you hear from Union?
I see that you applied to Drew as well. I am waiting to hear from them as well. It seems like those letters may be on the way (from what previous posts indicate)!

Sorry about that, email acceptance from director of admissions about 6:20 tonight.

Received acceptance from Union Theological Seminary (NYC) for The Bible Consortium (New Testament). Includes full tuition and $16,500 stipend. Have also been accepted to DU/Iliff's Joint PhD program (don't have all financial info yet from them). Concerned about cost of living in NYC but my husband works so it may be doable.

This looks like a good place to vent..... Venting begins:
I know some of us are naturally gifted at standardized testing. The rest of us have to take prep courses. And buy books. And make multiple attempts at getting the other-than-hard-science long reading section.
I know a lot of folks who were quite successful on the GRE with all these steps taken even after bombing the GRE first time around. So is it just a toll you have to pay? And what if you can't fork over $1000 for the course and $450 for 3 attempts? Makes me a little suspicious about who is being kept out.
Speaking of those kept out: first ever African-American woman was admitted to the Duke PhD in ethics this year.
Venting some more (thanks mama student)
The GRE has been horrible for me. I panic during these tests. I have taken it twice (with less than stellar results) but have been able to get an offer of admission for Ph.D. work and as a fellow Duke student (and African American female), I am so proud of my fellow sister who has been admitted to the Duke PhD in ethics!!!

I am finishing my MTS at Duke. Received Ray C. Petry Full Tuition Award. They give 4 each year out of the 20 accepted.
Acceptance rates/application numbers from this year?

My future advisor at Union Theological Seminary (NYC) told me that they had 150 applications for 8 slots. I got one in New Testament.
