I got a reply saying that we should be hearing about stage 1 next week. They did recognize that there has been a delay.
Oh, interesting. Did you email separately to ask about decisions?

Commenting to follow this thread as well. I can't tell if applying for grad schools or fieldwork grants is more traumatic. ?

I am! Haven't heard anything from Wenner Gren, SSRC, or NSF. ?
(Clearly, NSF gets a pass)

Oh man that downtime was killing me.
I put up the Stanford interview invite. Looks like they're aiming for 14 applicant interviews back-to-back-to-back, all on the same day from 9am to 4pm. With no lunch break. I guess they'll be snacking while listening? Not sure if all the invites have gone out yet or not, but it was just a generic email to "Dear ANTHRO Graduate Admissions Applicant," so that sounds like a batch email.
Good luck to all! There's light at the end of this tunnel somewhere.
That is super generic! Did anyone else hear anything?
I wish their site would just inform you if you're rejected or not...I'm not sure that I'm even interested in Stanford anymore, but it would be nice to know!

This waiting game is the absolute worst part of the process.

You could also look into programs with animal geographers.
http://www.animalgeography.org has a list of mentors willing to help students that are interested!

Panic! (Jk)
Look into research interests of the faculty you're interested in working with and know how your research interests fit that. Also have a few questions prepared to ask them about the program. Maybe make a list of your experiences that give you an advantage over other applicants? Good luck!

Happy Monday! Has anyone that submitted for the May 1 deadline heard anything since mid-August? ?
