Uh I had a GPA ~3.9 (give or take after conversion from a 9.0 system), GRE < 1200, 1 published paper, lots of work experience, and a prominent external fellowship.
I feel kinda bad after seeing all these rejections - I mostly applied to see if I could; I wasn't able to afford it anyway. I'm off to Berkeley which seems a bit cheaper.
I've been accepted to Berkeley, UIUC, UCSD for MS. Reject from uwisc (this alone speaks volumes about their application review process)! I presume uwisc must have filtered by GRE (<1200) because everything else on my application is strong; it would be interesting to keep a record somewhere of who filters by GRE and who doesn't.
Just waiting on Stanford; should be interesting to see if they GRE-filter!
Received email from EECS dept offering acceptance a few days ago. No word on funding (I assume there is none). Had phone conversations with faculty a couple of weeks ago (not sure if these were interviews - they didn't feel like it).
Stats:
GRE: < 1200,
GPA: 3.8,
1 publication (minor author)
a lot of work experience
external scholarships
