MFA 2015 INTERVIEW FREAKOUT!!!! SHARE YOUR CONCERNS!

Same here! -
I'm not sure. Two sculpture prospective grads came, and they had lunch with the sculpture faculty. I mean, it's probably a good thing they came, shows the faculty who they are as a person (because wanting to work with a student is also important,) but if your work is super stellar, then maybe it doesn't matter. I do think that coming was advantageous, but since you're so far away maybe they won't count that against you. Just keep your fingers crossed I guess.

My slide room status for Columbia changed from "2015 Photography" to "2015 Photography MFA." Not sure if it means anything.

Today was the shortlist visit with Ohio State University, and it went really well. If you were invited and couldn't make it, the general consensus with all of us prospective grads is that the program is very warm and welcoming, the faculty and students are motivated and inspiring, and the resources at OSU are incredible. From what I understand, they are accepting 2 people into the sculpture program. Expect to hear a decision in 2ish weeks.

MFA was added to my Columbia slide room app.
-
No word from Columbia yet. If anyone hears from anywhere, please post about it.
-
I'm waiting to hear back from so many schools. Refreshing my email this much can't be healthy...
-
from what I understand, when Columbia is reviewing your application, the title of your program will have MFA added to it. For example, mine currently says Photography 2015. If the legend/rumor is true, then they will add the MFA, making it MFA Photography 2015 or something like that. If it disappears, then you're rejected.

Has anyone had the legendary "MFA" added to their Slideroom app for Columbia? I haven't yet, just to clarify.
-
Thank you. I'm actually working on a word doc right now with potential interview questions, and some of these aren't on there. Does anyone know what kind of questions MassArt asks?
-
... Totally forgot about that. The anticipation is agonizing.
-
I saw somewhere they'll be contacting interviewees this week or next.
-
maidenvoyage, did you hear from MassArt yet?
-
That's what I ended up doing.

MassArt interview email! (:

That's really helpful, thank you. Yeah, they're asking for expenses for 2014. I wish it were monthly, it would be a little easier. FAFSA was turned in January 3rd. I'm a pro at that by now.
-
For people who applied to Columbia and filled out the aid form: on the expenses section, it asks what me and my (non existent) spouse spent money on. I'm entirely dependent on parents, so would I enter "0" in all of the fields, or find out how much they spent on these things on my behalf? I just really don't want to screw this form up and not get admitted or something. The paranoia is SO real.

Ridiculously frequently.

Thanks! I'm very fortunate to have had those opportunities, and I adore my fellow globe-trotters!

Thank you, tdevo412!

The Columbia need assessment form is stressing me out a little bit. It's so detailed and confusing, to at least me, anyway. I'm curresntly entirely dependent on parents and I have no spouse, so I'm having a hard time filling it out, since it asks what I spent money on, when technically I didn't spend money on anything. (also super self conscious about this post, since I'm showing how terribly young I am...)
