This Columbia business is freaking me out. Idk if mine changed or not. It still says "2015 Photography" on my slideroom app, but 2015 Visual Arts MFA on my online system. Keeping my fingers crossed nonetheless.

Your undergrad experience sounds a lot like mine-- I've spent the last few years pushing beyond what my program had to offer, and did a lot of research and experimentation on my own. It's good to know that I'm not totally delusional for feeling ready without taking time off.

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY APPLICANTS: Is anyone else having trouble with the preview of your application before you submit? My phone numbers aren't showing up in the preview, but they are in the application I filled out... Help.

Columbia University applicants: For the SOP, what is your interpretation of "an exploration of your work's relative place in the history of contemporary art." Do you think they are asking for a connection of your work to contemporary art? Or something else? I guess I'm just thrown off by what they mean by "exploration." Call me paranoid, but I want to do this correctly. Thanks!

Photo people! Hello! I can't believe almost everything is due in ten days-- Anxiety much? Anyway, I'm thinking about cleaning up my site some more, what do you guys think? I'm considering removing my "fictionisms" series, but I'm on the fence... Advice would be welcome!

Your Sewing Pieces are absolutely insane (in the awe-factor way,) and intriguing. Your Standing Pieces, too. I'm a big fan of using sewing as a fine arts tool, and I'd say you got it. I am a little put down by the current documentation, but you said you're in the process of re-documenting. I look forward to seeing the improvement. Good luck!

As far as my statement goes, I've submitted half of my apps, but I have four more statements to write and cannibalize pieces from others. I'll probably put up my next one, but in the mean time, I'm willing to read over statements. I have a degree in English and I also have an Art History minor, so I know how to write and think about art. (: Plus, I love editing papers. So there's that, too.
