Reiterating, all profs I've talked to about this topic, both at R1's and LAC's, said that nearly all their academic job interviews (for psychology) resulted from connections they had made while in grad school, either themselves or indirectly through their mentor. So it seems like who your advisor knows (and who thinks they are an impressive researcher) will heavily influence your job prospects.
Is anyone aware if on-site interview invitations have been sent out?
Someone mentioned the campus interview would happen late January, but I haven't heard anything since I skyped with my potential POI back in December.
Who was the one not taking students? Considering we were at the interview together last weekend, I'm pretty sure we applied to similar people everywhere else haha
I can understand why they don't do this, but man I wish they would tell everyone who didn't get an interview right away that they were rejected. A lot less stress in the long run...
