  1. That is what I read on previous threads too, but I do not know how factual it is...
  2. I might have messed up my info on the schools. P.S. Got my rejection letter from Laurier in the mail Wed or Thurs.
  3. Another one I can suggest is the 10 month Waterloo program, but you need to have 10 prerequisites for it. I strongly recommend contacting Shauna Elliot way before you apply to figure out what prereqs you missing, as she does take weeks sometimes to get back to you. When I was corespondig with her, some classes that I thought were equivalent didn't count and some that I thought were irrelevant counted :s All in all, I came out needing to do 3/10 prerequisites, and you can do them online.
  4. I got mine...I'll have the honours of opening it tomorrow, but it is a big brown envelope!! ^.^ I hope you get yours soon
  5. I would wait another day, as it was holidays for Canada Post(Fri,Sun, Mon officially). I also don't have mine, it's mailed to my moms place and she will check later tonight. I will keep you updated
  6. I agree with what Jenste said and would like to add my experience: I did go the route where I took SSW after my B.A. So in terms of schooling, I did an extra year. However, the year before I decided to go that route, I wanted to pursue teaching degree. I was rejected from teaching colleges and ultimately was devastated which mate me re-evaluate in the direction I want to go in my career. So when I got rejections in mid-Apr 2013, I looked into SSW programs and George Brown was still accepting applications even though it was only 2 weeks until classes start, I got accepted (it was like a day or who before classes started). I know cutting it close... Last year I guess I was not as competitive for UofT as I was in middle of my SSW and was on wait list all summer long, ultimately rejected. However I finished up my SSW and that helped me get a part-time job in a field, adding to my skills and experiences, to be accepted this year. In the end I do not regret that one year as it was transitional for me into the social work field, got to network with many future social workers and I found out that it is what I want to pursue ultimately, no matter what. Honestly, for me I got more out of the accelerated SSW then my whole undergraduate degree. lol. So it is for you to decide if you think you are competitive enough or you want to improve on your skills and knowledge. Fell free to ask me if you got any more questions
  7. Thank you for checking in and letting us know!
  8. Am I the only one that keeps checking ROSI to see that the "invite" is still there and its not April Fools joke? lol. I will probably be doing that until I get the letter in the mail...
  9. Wow so many acceptance today :DD Good luck Everyone who is still waiting for responses, don't give up!
  10. Same! Congratulations everyone :3 ...I hope its not a cruel April's Fool joke
  11. thanks, Yes is it my second time applying! Last year I was waitlisted, but never got off the waitlist.
  12. Thank you, thank you! Perseverance pays off!
  13. omg I got into UoT. I'm crying ...I can't believe this as it is my top choice.
  14. I was wondering if any of you from this thread attended the post-grad BSW at Waterloo? If you can send me a PM telling me your experience there. How classes are run? structuring? class sizes? assignment/test load? What did you like/dislike about Waterloo/Renison? What was surprising or new to you? Thanks and any insights are very appreciated
  15. Lee22, I hope so too! I see you are still waiting for responses from UofT and Laurier, same as me Good luck everyone, be positive and proud that you have gotten this far! It is a big accomplishment being able to apply to post-grad education!
  16. I don't think we find out anything through the portal. From what I heard is that you either get accepted by email or rejected by snail mail. Not sure how they let waitlisted candidates know.
  17. Hello everyone, I had a hard time finding work in Toronto last year with a B.A in Psychology ( I have an accelerated SSW diploma as well). So I decided to extend my search area to GTA, and networks where I did my placement suggested I apply to North Halton Community Living since they are always looking for relief staff. I really enjoy working there and supporting the clients needs. In addition getting valuable experience in group homes and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. I know not everyone has access to a car (to commute to Milton/Georgetown), but hoping it brings some encouragement. Best of luck finding something and stay positive
  18. uggg, I miss-read that as the acceptances went out already and gave myself a small heart attack. (I should not be on this site when I'm sick lol). As someone else mentioned, LORIS fixed the link, so maybe they are ready to send out those emails soon ^.^ ....hoping, hoping...
  19. So far doesn't look like anyone received anything...
  20. I know this is an MSW thread, but I got accepted to the one year BSW @ waterloo with conditions that I finish up the prerequisites. So excited >.< even though its my last choice (and my plan B ). Makes me less anxious waiting for the UoT answer knowing that I have something to fall on. Best of luck.
