I am going to UMich this Fall for a master degree. I accepted offer from the department on 15th April but I haven't received any updates from the graduate school. For those who are going to UMich, have you received any updates from them?

Just received rejection letter. Will go to UMich then.

Hey, whk and ayepriori, have you guys received any update from UCLA?

They started second batch of interviews in late February and early March. In those meeting, we were told the decisions should be available by the end of March. However, it seems that none of us have received their decisions. I contacted my POI last Monday and he replied that their process was still ongoing. If you really want to know your application status, you may contact the department. They would let you know whether your are waitlisted or rejected.

I think interview is not common for every applicant as some have already reported they were rejected by UCLA after contacting them for decision status. Wish both of us can hear some good news by end of the March!!!

Although some of the acceptance was sent out in early January, I had an informal meeting with a POI in the early March (no contact from UCLA before). In the meeting, I was told the decision should be sent out in late March. For those who are in the same situation, could you please share what you were told in the interview?

I received rejection email from RI. Still hear nothing from the CS department...

Unless U of Toronto urges you to reply, you should wait until decisions from other schools you are interested. We are computer science students. We should be greedy. I am also waiting for UCLA and USC. All decisions I have got so far are all rejection. Wish us hear some good news soon.

I am also very curious about this. I had interview with a POI from UMich in early Jan. Still haven't heard anything back from them. Don't know if I am rejected by UMich. His research interest aligns with mine. I really want to get admitted by UMich. It seems UCLA changed their admission pattern. Not sure about this. I really like the campus of UCLA.

I was an UG exchange student to Northwestern and I took one postgraduate class there. The professors are great. It has great equipment and a great campus. However, my stay was short. Otherwise, I would like to do some research there. I would say Evanston is a great place to stay (except the weather). I am also applying for Northwestern but still hear nothing from it yet.

I noticed that UCLA sent out result much earlier than it did in previous year. I still haven't heard anything back from them. Does anyone have any idea about this? I wonder if the deadline for fall 2015 application is the same as previous years.

Yes, you are right. So, I have already assumed I am rejected by MIT...

In previous years, the result search showed that some guys did receive acceptance letters 1 week after the first wave of admission letters.

@rp15 Advice from my professor, "Other than the reputation of the school itself, there are some other factors you should think of. Location of the school is important because you are going to spend next 5 or 6 years in that place. More importantly, choose a professor who works with his/her students." You should go and talk to your professor about that. Professor knows each other well.
