How you guys reply to a university when they admit you with full financial aid while you can't make decision right now since you are waiting to hear from other universities? It's kind of difficult, you can't be too enthusiastic to make they believe that you'd definitely choose them while you can't be too unmoved to make them think you'd not choose them. What a subtle line...... Can anyone share a sample or give some suggestions? Thank you! -

It's not the school name. It's a slogan we said whenever we met alumni. -

"We're in the top 25 IE programs though no one would expect that who heard my school's name. : )" OMG, when I saw this sentence, I thought maybe we are in the same school! Wxx Exxxx ? -

I also applied Purdue, got no news. I submitted my application in October or November. I wrote to ask my application status a couple of weeks ago, and they said my application was marked 21st, January and under review. Congratulations to darlingguoguo! -

At this time, no news is good news! You are in Singapore? Maybe I read your post in other forums, if you were that guy, I don't think you need to be worried, your background is toooooooo strong! Wish you get the offer from your dream school! -

I applied to Ph.D program. I've already got the rejection. They sent me an email asked me to check the status online, I kind of knew it was bad news, and yes, it was rejection. I was not too surprised of this result, since I realized that I failed a requirement after I paid the application fee, I called them but they refused to refund me. Today, my friend asked "why didn't you call your credit card company and just cancel the transaction?" I didn't figure out this way......too silly -

Thank you guys. I emailed them to ask about the financial aid, but no reply so far. Wish we all will get good news soon. So do you guys pursue Ph.D degree to load yourself on an academic career path? Seems not many openings require Ph.D in industry, or am I wrong? -

Do you guys email professors to ask if they have RA positions? I'm not sure if I should do this or not, some friends told me to do so, while some departments' website says "Do not contact our professors until you get admission." So what about you guys? -

Hang on there, I have not heard anything from TAMU neither. The only thing we can do is being patient, although I know it's difficult. Tips to you guys who applied GIT, contact professors in person ASAP! The decision is not made by committee, it's going through a rolling review process, if a professor decided to fund you, you can get the offer. I have a friend got admitted in 2007, he said it was a special situation that year, a alumni donated a huge funding to IE department, so they recruited more students than other years. However, usually, if you wanna get offer from IE in GIT, you should probably contact professors to show your research interest and your research potential. If they like your background, you are much more closer to the offer! -

I'm glad the OP started this topic, hope we can share some information. You guys' background are really impressive, made me feel pressure , since I noticed that there are several universities we all applied. The universities I applied: Stanford Berkeley UCLA CMU U of Florida TAMU Arizona State U No information up to now, and I'm getting anxious everyday, especially when I refresh my email. Some universities won't release decisions until the end of February, some even wait till the end of March. Gosh, anyone please tell me how to get through these days? Probably two months to go. Anyone knows the funding situation in IE department this year? BTW, I know there is a guy already got the offer from Berkeley, maybe not officially, but he is an under student studying in Berkeley, so he has the access of internal information. Good luck everyone and bless us all!
