  1. Ah man, I was just there myself. Hope you had a great conference
  2. I've heard they don't actually have funding for their MA students (only for their PHd students), but that they do give every MA student a teaching position at some point. I am (sadly) bound to Lit programs in Colorado, so being accepted here is great news!
  3. I just saw that too. Looks like it was a phone call (I'd be worried if it was aN email). Best of luck to you - at least we will know soon!
  4. One of my friends who applied called the department, and they told him that they would let us know on Friday. Apparently they are backed up with the applications
  5. Nothing at all. I'm in the same boat, and just want to hear back from these guys so I can compare offers. I emailed Cynthia Ocken today, so I'll let you know what she says!
  6. Did you hear anything today?
  7. Weird, so tomorrow? I almost doubt that decisions will go out over the weekend. But I'll keep my fingers crossed! Thank you, for the response
  8. Have any of the MA applicants heard anything? I saw two MFA acceptances in the past week, but nothing for MA students. This is my top school, so I am starting to get nervous.
  9. There are two Master's students (for Comp Lit) who recieved e-mails last week
  10. For those who received acceptance emails from CU Boulder: was it a general email? I'm nervous, I haven't heard anything from them yet
  11. Incredible! Please tell me you are celebrating this weekend
  12. Edit: sorry, just realized I repeated exactly what you posted. I'm brain-dead today
  13. Aggh, so sorry! What did they say about funding, if I may ask?
  14. I applied for the MA, so I'm assuming these announcements will go out later than PHd acceptances? I'm crossing my fingers that you hear good news
  15. Hi friends! Long-time lurker here, who must congratulate all of you talented lit nerds! Seriously, I am so impressed by the acceptances on this thread, and feel that my applications pale in comparison. I had to apply in-state for grad school (my fiance's practice cannot survive a move), so I only applied to three programs. My top choice is Boulder - they have a fantastic program. Today I received an early acceptance voice message from CU Denver (their application deadline is not until April 1), but the head of the department did not mention any specifics about my acceptance. She did say that a letter would be mailed out to me soon - is this where I would learn about funding/a TA acceptance? Also, because there is still sometime for applications to come in, do you think the department will wait to figure out funding once they have reviewed all applicants? I would love to hear everyone's thoughts!
  16. ^^^^^ Thank you! It's a wonderful confidence booster - I'll need it as I eagerly await responses from other schools.
  17. I only applied to MA programs, and just received an acceptance phone call today. The funny thing is that this school's application deadline hasn't even passed (it is March 1), so it was a surprise hearing back so early.
  18. I suppose I am also quite "promiscuous" when it comes to learning. I welcome anything challenging!
  19. "Women's Images in the Classical World" was a turning point in my undergraduate career, and left me drooling over the prospect of professionally studying literature. However, I must say that my "favorite" classes were those taught by the professors who I looked up to the most. I have three professors (all LORs) who have guided me through a colorful array of authors, eras, and theories. It is in thanks to them, that I am on this journey! I am currently saving-up to buy them great thank you gifts
  20. Yes, these were individual e-mails, and the professor who was CC'd on the second e-mail is someone who specializes in my field of study. My first response was that it was positive, but I immediately retracted that feeling and became paranoid. Your reply makes me feel better P.s. Thanks for the nudge towards the Lit sub forum - still new here, so anything helps!
  21. Hi friends, First-time poster here. After submitting my application to Colorado University, I have been contacted twice by the department head. The first e-mail was designed to alert me of several changes made to the structure of the lit program, while the second e-mail informed me of further additions made to the program. Another professor was CC'd on the second e-mail. Any thoughts on this? I am worried that the graduate board is concerned on my fit within the program. May I add that my application is currently being reviewed (as relayed via the department head), even though the deadline for Fall 2015 isn't until April 1.
