    Apologies in advance if this post may seem immature and annoy you. 

     

    I got my MA in IR last fall and now I'm seriously considering pursuing a phd within the discipline. A draft of my proposal is almost ready, however, I have the feeling that it is not good enough as a phd proposal, because I have followed the same "formula" as I did for my MA proposal. I have an original research question etc, and when it comes to the methodology, I have stated that I want to use a logistic regression model, and the dataset that I'm going to use is based on variables I have merged together from different datasets.    

     

    My question(s) are;

     

    What is expected of a phd proposal? 

     

    Does all the data have to be original in the sense that I have to make them from "scratch-scratch"? 

     

    Would logistic regression be too simple?  

     

    Again, apologies if this sounds stupid
