Hmm. . . that is an interesting discrepancy. Perhaps the person I contacted was misinformed a the time, or perhaps they told me that instead of an outright, "Sorry, you've been rejected." On the results search page, it looks like someone got an offer from UCF on Mar. 25 and turned it down (pretty good funding offer too, apparently--19k + tuition).
Congrats on the USD acceptance!
Last I heard (March 18), 5 of their 7 offers had accepted--not trying to be discouraging, just informative. Pretty cool story about the guy who got into an I/O program off the waitlist. I had always thought that getting in off the waitlist was an almost mythical feat.
I was waitlisted at a top-tier program as well; maybe I should have held out! Oh, well . . .
Hope things work out well for everyone!
I'm not sure. His use of the words "first round" led me to believe they may not have had that many applicants, and that after the first 7 respond, their may be another "round" of review.
I'm speculating, of course.
Contacted the AEHF program director at UCF about what stage of the application review process they are at.
"We are still in the process of selecting students. We hope to complete this task by next week."
I, too, applied to UCF--Hopefully we will start hearing something soon! Will be monitoring the forums closely, in the meantime. (Sorry if you checked this thread excited for new information!)
