  1. It's great to see someone else who is doing the same thing. Yeah I am doing a masters to not only learn some more advanced statistical techniques (especially in modeling) but also to hopefully make up for my undergraduate GPA (which wasn't terrible; 3.4 overall after my first 3 semesters as a chemistry major went...not so well). I am just not entirely sure what tier school I should aim for I guess; I obviously would love to go to all of those schools that were just mentioned (NYU, WUSTL, and Berkeley being personal dreams of mine).
  2. Hello all, I have a BA in psychology and philosophy, and am currently getting a master's degree in statistics. I did research as an undergraduate student in the field of categorization, focusing on similarity and analogy, and would like to pursue a PhD in cognitive psychology (or cognitive science) specializing in that area of category formation from a computational standpoint, particularly from a statistical/probabilistic framework. I am curious as to what universities might have programs/departments/research centers of interest to me (or that you think would), so any information would be most appreciated. I am not exactly sure when I will be applying for doctoral programs, but it will be after I finish this program, so post 2016. Thanks
