  1. I hope it went well today; I really like your work!
  2. Congrats! That's is the top amount I believe they offer. To you too Maidenvoyage!
  3. Thanks Summers! You are so right about the resources there, at RIT and GEH. I don't think any school has such a large faculty in Photography. It was so difficult to pick only one or two people whom I wanted to work with there. I did visit last summer, and grew up in the area so I am familiar with the glorious winters. The other 2 schools I applied to are, like you mentioned interdisciplinary and offer full funding. I think either(all photo or interdisciplinary) would make me very happy. Since I am used to a very spartan life style, living here on a modest salary, the cost of living in any of those smaller cities would be a relief to me. I saw those historic process workshops on the GEH web site; they look amazing! I'm glad you got to take one/more! Where are you applying now?
  4. I don't know if they conduct interviews; I have not been contacted for one. I had an interesting and enjoyable discussion with Michael Byron at Portfolio Day, so I'm not necessarily expecting one. I was wondering if only schools that don't go to NPD conduct interviews. Did you go to one? What's your primary media?
  5. I hope it goes well!
  6. Hi Summers, Thanks, except I'll probably have nervous breakdown by then!! It is a real stretch financially. Did you like it while you were there?
  7. I was asked to fill out the FAFSA by Feb 15 by one of my schools. I think that's a good sign; at least making the short list. I hope!
  8. Not yet (RIT). I looked at last year's thread and the responses started the last week in Feb, so I'm hoping any day now.
  9. Congrats! Is that one of your top choices?
  10. Congrats! When is it?
  11. You both interview on the same day, that's cool that you can meet and if (hopefully) you both get in you will know each other already! Good luck to you too Deo.
  12. I looked at UD and it looked good in both Art Studio and History. The issue for me is funding and the cost is much higher for out of state.
  13. I talked to them (MassArt) too, but at the very end, so it wasn't really a serious portfolio review. That probably would have been the forth school I would have applied to. The student work looked good. I was trying to keep it simple and deal with areas/schools I was familiar with. I hope your interview goes well!
  14. Don't necessarily worry. I thought I blew it at National Portfolio Day with one school, then got a very positive email from them later. I think they appreciate someone who is genuine rather stilted and rehearsed. Which is your top choice?
  15. Yes, I think/hope this will be the week we start to get some (good ) results! Good luck everyone; I hope we all get in somewhere we afford/with funding!
  16. Hi Photo people! I've been lurking for a while, frequently at work, heh. Did the people getting interviews also attended a National Portfolio Day?
  17. Valoia, RE: SF. I leave in SF. It's pretty lame if you don't have a lot of money or like to live with a bunch of people. I didn't even think of applying to SF schools, because they don't offer full funding and I don't want to have to work full time just to pay my rent, and not be able to devote 100% to school. I am looking forward to escaping to a smaller, much less expensive city this fall! RIT Syracuse WUSTL
