Yeah, pretty sure all have gone out. They did all the visits in one weekend just now.
Hey congrats! Just wanted to ask if you were in contact with Dr. Bitz before applying to UW? I might have to apply again next year lol if I don't get into my choice of schools.

Sorry for being a bit nosey, I was just wondering where/how you heard PO was only taking one student?
They ended up admitting 2. I work at WHOI and have credible sources

For those wondering, I was just told UW-Seattle PIs with guaranteed funding sent out their first round acceptances this week. (Read: mostly glacier/climate people). Offers will continue to roll out through April 14.
So it's not over yet? One of my buddies got an offer from UW Atmospheric Sciences last week, and I was wondering if they had sent out all acceptance emails.

@magnetite I didn't apply to Arizona State or Washington. In hindsight I should've applied to at least Washington because it has such a strong oceanography program, with their huge OOI project ongoing (read: $$). Best of luck to you!
Congrats on hearing something from WHOI! I hear PO has funding for 1 student this year. LOL. My chances are down to zero for the Joint Program now, and that rejection from UW Oceanography was quick too!

I did not, I applied to the the GEO curricular group. Open House is in ~3 weeks. Good luck, I hope you hear back soon!
Ah, I see. Thanks! It's pretty nerve-racking I must say!

Naturally, I find myself back in this forum now that I am finishing up my MS degree. I wanted some input on open house experiences...
I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to Scripps Open House. Does anyone have experience with this particular event or similar events? It seems to be a pretty immersive experience (two full days), but I don't actually have any detailed idea of what to expect. I am bringing my own funding (NSF GRFP - 3 yrs) as well which may put me in a unique position (?).
Thanks!Did you apply to the Climate Ocean Atmosphere Program? If so, when's the Open House? I'm still waiting to here from them and getting really anxious!

Has anybody heard from Scripps (Climate Ocean Atmosphere Program) or Yale (G&G) yet? I guess the Yale departmental open house is 5-6 Feb. I haven't heard back from them!

So apparently, they admitted 6 students for PO. Somehow they later figured out a way to pool money from MIT
