Is it too clingy of me to want to email UNC Chapel Hill again? I emailed the Director of Grad Admissions a week ago to check in again, no response. Otherwise, good luck to everyone!!

I'm still on the waitlist and waiting to hear from UNC Chapel Hill--I sent them a brief note a few weeks ago to see if they had any updates. I'm new at this, I guess I was too brief or abrupt in my requesting info? Will this hurt my chances? I'm going to the Open House this weekend, so hopefully I can make clear they're my top choice!

Yes, I'm looking into visiting this weekend--I'll be visiting UNC Chapel Hill by the end of this month. I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to visit BU, but hopefully weekend after next. I guess I'm just a little disheartened by my lack of concrete options besides Tufts (although thrilled to have been accepted at all!)

I only got accepted to Tufts PhD and Northeastern MA, waitlisted at UNC Chapel Hill and Boston University. Not sure if I want to wait until I hear something more decisive from BU or UNC or just accept Tufts. Rank is unfortunately weighing pretty heavily on my mind, although I really like the sound of Tufts's department and almost everything else about it. Any thoughts?

I'm a student coming right out of undergrad. I've been accepted to Tufts with a pretty awesome funding package, and overall the school is a decent, if not perfect fit. I've been waitlisted at UNC Chapel Hill and Boston University, and rejected everywhere else. Needless to say I've been obsessing--over fit, over ranking, etc. So really--for English PhD, how much does ranking/reputation actually matter in the long run?

I applied to University of Michigan's program in Women's Studies and English and the suspense is killing me. Seems like the joint programs take way longer to respond.
