Exciting!! See you in September!

Only 4k ... Over the course of the program. So, 1k per semester. Not the greatest but better than nothing. I've lived in Ottawa since fall 2011 .. When I moved from waterloo to Ottawa for my MA. Cost of living isn't cheap but probably similar to Toronto. Depends on the area! The real concern is the hellish winters..!! Lol

this always feels terrible - trust me... I was rejected from a PhD application at carleton last year. It was the WORST! The good thing is that there are some pretty awesome opportunities to build your social services experience in Ottawa ( assuming you are in Ottawa now) ... And make some $$! This is all stuff no one wants to hear at the moment but it's really not that bad ... Chin up

Just got the email from Carleton 2 year... Accepted with 4k funding! Conditional offer / original transcripts need to be sent.

I'm seriously getting antsy over this! I also had an -A in undergrad overall 4 years... -A in my Masters... 4500+ hours and ongoing... Overseas experience ... I focused my statement on issues surrounding violence against women and children ... The structural school at carleton seems like a good fit for me since my masters thesis examined the VAW issues on a multi-level basis... But who knows... Ugh I'm just squirming over here! I'm getting more obsessive lol I'm afraid how my state on mind will be if I need to wait until Friday!!

I feel this way too!! At times, I feel like I should absolutely get accepted... And then I'm preparing myself for rejection... It's so hard to gauge properly because you don't know what exactly the competition is... And what matters most ... Statement... Grades.... Experience... References... Research interests ..?!? Lol too many factors ... I just can't wait to be relieved or put out of my misery! Lol dramatic but ... Seriously!!!

I'm hoping we hear some results today!

Don't give up yet! As long as it doesn't say "declined" or something to that standard then you still have a chance! I'm not getting too hopeful yet... I just want to know the decision!! Ughh

My status also says "review in progress by faculty of graduate and postdoctoral affairs"... Hope to get a decision this week! (carleton 2 year stream)!

Also... The whole possible rejection email today is making me crazy... Every time my phone vibrates!

I've only applied to Carleton 2 year... So I'm hoping to get lucky and get an offer! I already hold an MA in Conflict Studies from Ottawa U and currently work at Ottawa CAS... But need that MSW to be a CPW! Waiting is killing me... And this weather is NOT helping!!
