  1. Toronto is a little different with funding, I believe. I know that there is a guarantee of at least 15K + tuition (unless you have external funding and then you don't get as much from the university).

I would assume that if they have not told you otherwise, it's around this? They also might want to know if you have SSHRC or OGS before giving you specific numbers.

It does not hurt to ask though. Mention that you would like that information because it factors into your decision. Additionally, hol tight for the letter. I received an admission email two weeks before receiving the actual letter (though funding is not detailed in it).

Hi! Did you receive another letter with funding details? I received my offer of admission yesterday from SGS without funding details. I need the funding details to apply for a student visa and I'm not sure how it works. Please help if you can. Thanks.

  2. Yeah I did. One professor said she would look at my application so I was kinda banking on that. But then she stopped replying my mails. I called the grad office on Thursday and was told no one has shown interest in my application. I called the professor to confirm and she said she has already recruited the students she wanted. Quite disappointing. I then proceeded to call virtually every professor with a close research interest to mine. A lot of them are done recruiting. Those that still have positions available are not keen on taking international students because of the extra cost. At this point, I think U of T is over for me. I'm now banking on Guelph and Mcgill. I would advice that you call your profs. I just realised emails are a waste of time. 90% of those I called picked up. And they were quite polite and nice. Try calling as many profs as you can. You might get lucky. All the best!
