  1. I really can't speak to job prospects, as I am an applicant like you. I can speak to their research excellence though. Take a look at this list of SSHRC funded projects. The longest list of recipients are by far grad students from U of T: http://www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca/results-resultats/recipients-recipiendaires/2013/insight-savoir-eng.aspx Taken from their website: OISE is Canada’s leading centre for graduate studies in education and offers a wide-range of academic and professional programs involving the study of learning from birth through adulthood. Since 2004, OISE faculty have published more than 400 books and 2,000 refereed journal articles, and have won more than $21 million in research funding between 2011 and 2014. In the most recent QS World University Rankings, OISE rose to ninth overall in the world and to first in North America among public institutions. Of the 40 top schools principals in Ontario, 7 of them were OISE graduates: http://www.oise.utoronto.ca/oise/About_OISE/oise_alumni_named_canadas_outstanding_principals.html You can go to their news page to see examples of success stories of OISE grads: http://www.oise.utoronto.ca/oise/Home/News/
  2. OISE is the most research intensive education faculty across Canada. That means their faculty has a lot to offer graduate students who want quality research material for their future.
  3. I've applied to an MA program there as well. Still waiting! I'm wondering if it's as competitive as they make Oise seem to be! I have a 3.8 GPA (10.5/12) and I'm seeing these posts of people with high GPAs not getting in to Oise and it's driving me nuts just waiting
