  1. At any US University research will be a large component of your graduate studies. Even in my Master's Econ program, I had to write a couple hundred pages of both empirical work and literature reviews. Best of luck with whatever you decide.
  2. The reasons that I am interested in this program is because I want to teach, and I tied to the geographic area because of family responsibilities. Obviously, Indiana has a higher ranking, but UW Milwaukee holds that their extremely low NRC ranking was solely due to a data entry error when the rankings were being compiled. As I understand both programs, my best guess for you would be that Indiana would be the better place to prepare for research, while Milwaukee tends to be very good at placing teachers/instructors. I still have not heard back, can you give me any idea of what kind of grades/test scores got you offered funding there?
  3. Has anyone heard anything from the department? I had everything in by their January 15th soft deadline but have not heard a peep since. Really hoping they do not wait until after break to make decisions.
