  1. I would totally go to Admit day but I'm in Argentina until mid july T_T I am so excited to attend and see you guys!!!
  2. Congratulations!! I haven't gotten anything more about funding either yet.
  3. I got my letter literally 12 am San Diego Time on friday night. Hang in there. As for funding, I was notified of a fellowship but they told me more information about financial aid sources were to come out this week as well. I think you still have time. Good luck! Crossing my fingers for you!
  4. 23! graduated 2014! Teaching English in Argentina right now as gap year
  5. Thank you guys!! I'm so excited! I got my official acceptance around 4 AM my time so I guess around 12 AM SD time? I agree with botbot about the prestige. The reason why I'm so readily to accept UCSD's offer is mainly due to its location and its strong concentration in both Asian and Latin American studies. It's a perfect for my goals and interests. I'm a little wary about the living costs in SD but my friends in Cali have told me that it's not as expensive as people typically believe. As for news about funding, the fellowship email from the director noted that more information about financial aid funding will come out this week, so there is still hope!!
  6. In regards to the living costs, I have a few friends living in LA/SD/SF and they told me the best way to enjoy California is to have a car. The public transportation is apparently not so great even though it's cheaper. Gas is expensive unsurprisingly and unfortunately. It's about $3.50 a gallon. As for rent, it is possible to find affordable rent off campus. My friend's rent in LA is around $750. I don't know much about the on campus living yet. I'm hoping to get on-campus housing for the convenience and cost though.
  7. I just got an email from the Director of Enrollment about a fellowship offer which I'm extremely happy about. However, I actually haven't gotten an official letter of acceptance yet. I am so happy right now and hoping that this isn't a mistake. I hope to see you all down there
  8. >.< Thank you. Good luck to us both.
  9. OK thanks. That's reassuring. UCSD is my dream school
  10. I'm so anxious about it. It's not unheard of to be rejected after an admissions nomination right?
  11. I got the nomination on Feb 25 but I still haven't received an official acceptance. Is anyone else still waiting?
