I applied to the Community Health Science PhD at Tulane and I had a phone interview at the end of January, and since then I've heard nothing. The professor told me that there is very limited funding and essentially all of the departments in the SPH nominate students for the same award. Maybe the school is determining funding first, then sending out all admits?

I would contact the other schools and explain your situation. They may be able to give you a decision to help you decide.

Any other suggestions for apartment hunting web sites besides craigslist? It is totally dominated by realtors and condo complexes. I'm looking for just a regular old apartment, say in a two family house in Carrboro. Does that type of housing exist down in NC? I live in Mass now and that 's the type of housing I'm used to.

Hi everyone,
I applied to Harvard SHDH, UNC HBH, Tulane, Hopkins, Emory BSHE, USC (health behavior research). SO far in at Emory (w/funding) and Hopkins (International Health, no word on funding yet). Had a phone interview with Tulane a couple of weeks ago, but no decision yet.
Good luck!

I did see that, hmmm maybe I should email them. I haven't been super concerned because I'm most likely going somewhere else and since the prof told me there is only 1 available scholarship (which is competitive school-wide, not just the department). I definitely can't go without funding!
