I have heard of this happening from others who have applied in the past. It seems like this is a common trend when spots are limited, rather than in programs who have many spots to fill. It has been explained to me as similar to getting a good job at a well-known company and knowing a connection can be important. I am REALLY hoping that this is not the case with many schools, though, or else I am hopeless!!

Wondering if anyone has heard anything from Colorado State, UC Davis, or U Chicago? I have not seen any results posted thus far for interviews or decisions made, but thought maybe someone reading may have insight to these programs....? Thanks!
