Hello everyone, I have applied to the PhD program in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Virginia Tech. I have good undergrad and grad GPAs (Both above 3.7). I have good research experience and full external scholarship for five years (so I am not looking for funding). One of the provisional professors that I mentioned in my application is really interested in me. We have exactly the same interests. He asked me for a meeting and I met him since two weeks and it was great meeting. Last week, he sent me Email saying that he posted a convinced recommendation to the ECE Admissions Committee and the decision now is up to them. In fact, he is a very well know professor. He is in the Curriculum Committee in the department. My question is that I have low GRE. Does it possible that they reject me for that although everything is strong and I have a scholarship? What do you think about my chances? I really appreciate your opinion and thanks in advanced.
