  1. Heads up: This is what I received hours ago.

This year, admission offer letters for the two-year MSW Program will be sent out from mid-March to mid-April.  As decisions are mailed out, your status on the On-line application will be changed to Decision Made.   By mid-April all MSW decisions will be sent out.   Due to the high volume of applicants, we are not able to respond to messages regarding when a decision will be made on an application. We ask for your continued patience.

    ---------------

So my take is another round(s) of acceptances would be rolling in before mid-April, and this could either be people getting off the wait list, if there exists one, or just optimistically finish departmental and graduate office review and procedural confirmation.

  2. People have got replies from York in all possible tones - accepted, wait listed, unsuccessful (Sorry but the best is yet to come, get your feet back on the ground!). I just feel confused what my Not Decision Yet means with no feedback? Does anyone applying for York have the same problem?

To those accepted, did you find a thesis supervisor during application? I guess it may make a difference.

Also, should I still bear hope on the UofT two-yr program - ROSI unavailable, SGS under review, no Email prompt. Angela hasn't replied yet.

I have to say compared with an elegant and slow death, I prefer facing what I have to face in a straightforward fashion.

  3. Hey all,

Just thought I would share. I emailed an updated CV to Angela for the 2 year MSW at WLU about 2 weeks ago and she responded today saying that it had been added to my application - which makes me think applications are still being reviewed.

Good luck in the coming weeks!

Hope it goes as is shown in the SGS as under review...Finger crossed.

Good luck everyone! Both in plan A and Bs.

  4. You can find the student number on the SGS page under "application summary" --> "Reported Student Number", your applicant number is not the same as the student number, it is not a sign you didn't get in :) all the best!

Thanks a lot! I didn't even notice the line this time passing. Each time I just checked the status but never referred back to my application summary.

I saw you've gotten in, congrats! And all the best in the coming academic year!

  5. Seconded! My friend, who is currently in the program, said that the admin person at York has been away sick, but is back in the office today, so chances are good that if people are going to get a reply at all, it will come in the next few days.

I know some people have received emails that they have gotten in or been waitlisted, so it would be awesome to know where that leaves the rest of us. I know last year, people received acceptances and wait list statuses at the very end of March, and then I had emailed York a few days later asking about the status of admissions, never got a response of any kind, and then my myfile changed to "Decision made- unsuccessful" almost a month later. So if anyone has heard anything, that would be great.

I haven't gotten in touch with them this year, but if I haven't heard anything by the first week of April I figure I will send off an email.

Thanks for the reliable source of info! I guess it's just not wise that I applied to a thesis program without a perfectly-matched academic background. Haven't got any reply so far, and the status says no decision yet. Ahhhh I'll take it as a "no" to skip that month-long wait, when I may possibly struggle with hope and frustration...

  6. hey guys,

I couldn't hold back my excitement this morning when I found this thread still going on and involving lots of people sharing common situations - maybe more fellows joining in, and more in-time information flow. Oddly I didn't feel attached to the status thing believing the decision would only came out in mid-April until I found this one :) It seems I have fallen behind a lot, at least the Friday Call up! Congratulations to those who have received  :D letters! I immediately checked both my mailbox and SGS status which is "under review" always. Hope we all will soon get a reply and thanks to the huge encouragements above hopefully more acceptances will arrive :))

It looks like social work is quite a local field as many people have said since most applicants posting here are locals. As an international applicant, I feel great to discover your life experiences and formal language assets here - learned a lot and will keep on that :)))
