I'm really interested (and accepted, visiting) NCSU's applied math program. I want to do math bio research and they have several professors in this; I like the area; the program seems good. However, I'm worried about the environment. Does anyone have insight as to what it's like in this program? I know the best way is to ask current grads, so that is a plan. I guess my concerns are more about having a hostile advisor, the other grads being cut-throat, excessive workload.
