    Hey guys,

I'm in a little bit of a situation and thought I would ask my fellow Canadian applicants for advice.

Essentially I applied to multiple schools, however, I really only had one school I wanted to attend. Consequently, I didn't put in as much effort into my other applications (i.e. contacting POIs) - I know, not smart :(.

My undergraduate thesis is a substudy (one of 4) from a larger hospital study, and it turns out my POI from another school is an author on one of the other substudies! Turns out our interests are very much alike. We had a conference call with the other researchers, and she knows who I am but she most likely does not know I applied to work with her (yet). This is the first time I spoke to her and it was via webconference.

Any advice on how I should approach this situation? I would like to contact her but it feels like I missed my chance/screwed up.

    Thanks in advance! :)

I would take a chance and email her anyways. You could let her know that you did apply to work with her and ask if she is accepting students this year, that you are very interested in her research and the program, etc.

Yes, it was my department coordinator. It's pretty inconsistent and unfortunate that some departments don't inform their students.

Could be completely wrong, but maybe it depends on what we indicated on our online forms. I completed the "correspondence address" section, which says: Complete this section only if you wish your correspondence to be sent to an address other than that of your current position. So maybe my university did not receive my results.

Okay so I went ahead and emailed potential supervisors and heard back right away with friendly responses.

McGill...rejected, they already made shortlists and sent out invites and apparently got hundreds of "dazzling" applicants this year.

Dalhousie...The first round admission offers have been made.  That does not necessarily rule out second and even third round admissions.

    Goodluck everyone. Hang in there.

Did you apply to Concordia as well? Was wondering if you emailed and heard anything from them. Sucks about McGill :(

Hi @Just_Waiting I applied to Lakehead, McGill, Dalhousie, Concordia and UNB. Eeee this waiting is intense and it seems interview invites have already gone out?

@Recoverygurl which programs have you applied to? It completely depends which schools you're waiting to hear from

I applied to McGill and Concordia as well! Haven't heard anything personally, but I did see one person posted they received an interview invitation from Concordia on January 11. It seems some invites have gone out for McGill as well. Hopefully there's more to come?!

  5. Anyone have any news about McGill's clinical program (PhD)? Interviews? Acceptances? Anything?

I haven't heard anything either, no interview, uapply says my application is still in review. I called the graduate program coordinator, she said they haven't updated the site in a while, but I know other people who received updates just last week

  6. Just stumbled upon this website...I went through the thread and didn't find any info on Concordia clinical. Has anyone heard from them by any chance? Rejection or acceptance?

I applied to the clinical program at Concordia as well. Haven't heard anything! The portal says my application is in review. I tried calling the admissions assistant, no answer
