I am currently a student in the Monmouth program! Your story sounds similar to mine. Last year I applied to 20 schools and in the end I was deciding between Monmouth and Hofstra. I decided to go to Monmouth because of the location (I didnt want to live on Long Island either!) and the price difference. In the end, we are all getting the same degree and passing the same test so paying so much more money did not make sense to me. Monmouth is fully accredited by ASHA! We have the title "candidate" because ASHA needs to look at the program closely for the next few years to ensure we as students are obtaining the best education possible. Monmouth is still fully accredited, it is just a different type of accreditation.
I love this program and I dont regret choosing Monmouth over Hofstra for a second! Hope you choose what is best for you.
