Hi all, I am enrolled to begin an MPhil in Philosophy in the UK this autumn. I enjoy the subject in its broad storkes but the more I have read Phd and academic grade philosophy I find it overwhelmingly pedantic. I don't plan to continue beyond the MPhil to a Phd or work in academic Philosophy. Whar are your thoughts on the value of completing the MPhil for its own sake? Is it a waste of time if I don't have any plans to upgrade it? Any wider merits in studying the MPhil? Definitely hope people where share their thoughts ...
