I'm planing to apply for Physics(or Applied Physics) PhD this fall. But I don't know what level I'm at.
Undergraduate : Shandong University (China) Major: Applied Physics General GPA : 3.5/4 (91/100) Major GPA: 3.73/4 (93.4/100) Ranking: 1/66
Research: undergraduate thesis on optical properties of one dimensional periodic crystal.(no publication)
Master: University of British Columbia
GPA: 82% (two course: A+; one course: B+; one course: B-) ----> quite low compared to my undergraduate scores........
Work: Teaching assistant Research(Condensed Matter Physics): have good research experience on Iron-selenide superconductors
Publication: one first author PRL (It's expected to be submitted this October at least. It may be accepted around December or January).
Recommendation letter from my supervisor (My supervisor is really nice. I may purse a PhD with him. But I'm not sure! )
GRE : 152/167/3 (Q/V/A)
TOEFL: CAN be waived for most of universities
GRE SUB: 880 (83%) Status : International
I think the research experience and publications would be very important. But I'm worried that my graduate GPA and GRE/SUB will not be competitive!!! Anyone have idea what kind of university should I expect?
Chance to get accepted to TPO20 US Universities or EU Universities?
