Hi all. I want to apply for Ph.D. in top universities of US. I am graduate in Electrical and have 3 years of experience in Larsen & Toubro in Monorail Project. I got distinction in electrical from one of the top colleges of India. Recently I had given my GRE and scored not as expected. In verbal I scored 150,quant 168 & AWA 3.0. I have drafted two technical papers on Rolling stock & transformer under the guidance of IIT Bombay professors. I come from the conditions of abject poverty. I have been the sole earner of my family since I was 15. I cannot afford to do M.S. and then go for Ph.D. Kindly guide me the universities in which I should try for direct Ph.D. I was planning to apply in MIT, Gatech, CMU, but the application fees is high. So, thought of getting suggestions before applying.
