My undergrad GPA is below 3.0, and I want to email departments to check whether or not any GPA requirement is a hard limit. However, I don't want the first thing that a department finds out about me to be my GPA. What should I do? I've considered creating a fake email address for this purpose, but it's not the most honest approach.
