For those waiting on Brown, over at draft it's been discussed (per a call to the university) that fiction will have results by Monday. Hoping we're in the same boat!!

Aw, have fun at coffee y'all and break legs at your interviews!!! Excited to hear about the results. Fingers crossed!

@Boxedwine I made one of those, too. On graph paper. It's so pretty but predicts poor news. /:
Also received the snail mail rejection from CMU today. Post marked 2/19, arrived 2/22 (clearly for future lurker use - add it to your own fun graphs)! (:

Per the trends from previous years in this thread, it appears that Brown should be releasing its decisions some time soon. I mapped it between the 13th and the 20th for rejections noted from previous applicants actively posting in this forum. We should be getting those e-mails soon if trends hold...

It's almost February! How is everyone feeling? Me? Oh, I'm just dandy. I find that reading a good book is keeping me distracted for the moment. (:
Through my perusal of this topic, I've found that mid-February seems to be the time when initial notifications begin to occur! Best wishes to all!! May the results be ever in your favor.

While you're at it, go out and buy a Powerball ticket!
Ha! Not a bad idea. What's it at now, $1.5 billion or so?

Wow, really? 1-2%? Why is that?
Each program I've researched accepts between 2 and 6 students per year (of 200-500 applicants, approximately, depending on the year); though there are some programs that are a bit larger (hosting approximately 24), thus allowing a slightly higher acceptance rate (though, this rate is still exceptionally low). Simply put, it's bananas.

So glad I stumbled upon this thread... it's helped relieve my stress at least a fraction of an amount.
Yale Playwriting hopeful rejection (from '09, but I still find it slightly humorous): "Same letter as last year. I've got a small collection."
Considering most playwriting applicants have a 1-2% chance of acceptance at any Uni, I empathize with this hopeful (and admire their dedication to the process)!

So glad you brought that CMU question up. I finished out the application a week ago and felt something was missing which were my transcripts. My alma mater's on break right now, but when I contacted the person's name to contact with admissions questions he said it's okay if they arrive after the application. He told me to mail them to him and not the 5000 Forbes address on the side of the page. Not quite sure the exact mailing address, but my school is sending him electronic official transcripts to his email. It really depends on the system your former institution uses. Hope this helps! Luckily, I've found schools to be understanding in terms of getting materials in the mail during this busy time.
Is it the address listed at the bottom of this page?

Much appreciated!

Hello, fellow playwrights! Just thought I'd introduce myself as the application season continues. I've submitted my app for Brown and am working my way through those for Rutgers, Carnegie Mellon, Temple, Pace, Boston U, and Smith.
Concerning Rutgers - does anyone have information on the personal essay? I've read the requirements through and through (on a few different pages of Rutgers' website) and have not been able to find any information on a personal essay topic/requirement. All the website states is for two plays to be submitted. No other criterion. Any insight would be helpful! Thanks!

Same here. Was everyone's letter from Peter M. Weber instead of Erik Ehn this year? I'm curious.
