  1. I applied, but haven't heard anything yet. The results page as of 1/21 indicates that at least one gradcafe user has been notified of an interview for duke's psychology & neuro program (but does not specify if the concentration is developmental).

Would appreciate a reply from anyone who has heard from Duke!

I haven't heard a thing from Duke. It's my dream school, but I am afraid I don't stand a chance there.

Have you heard from any other Dev Psych?

  2. I applied to U of washington, U of Oregon, U of Chicago and Harvard, all in Dev Psych. Any one heard from any of these schools yet?

I have a feeling Developmental Psych applicants will REALLY start to hear back from schools begining next week...but that's just me.

  3. I applied to UT-Austin as well as an international applicant.

I wonder if my quantitative score on GRE and not having reserch experience hurt my admission since I have not been contacted by the school for an interview. What did they ask you? How long was the interview? Do you have research experience?

Not every school has made decision yet, but it makes me nervous and discouraged although I should not.

I submitted one of papers I wrote when I was in Med program (about 10 to 15 pages long) and I also wonder it that was a mistake.

I did not use any data analysis (statistics involved) when I was in the program.

I sent you a private massage.

  4. I'm an international student from a non-English speaking country.

The only things I have ever written in English are 3 different posters, which eventally were all presented in big international conferences. I am the 1st author in one of them. Is it OK to send just a poster? I mean - it does say a lot about my research and writing ability, so why not? On the other hand, it is NOT a 10-25 pages piece of work.

    What do you think?

By the way, I'm applying for a Developmental Psych PhD program. .

  5. I'm well into my applying this winter and I'd really appreciate some advice (reassurance?) about my preparation for a developmental psych PhD program.

GPA: 3.4 overall (not great, but from a well-known school), 3.5 in psych

I'm looking at UCR, UC Davis, Arizona State, U Washington, U Oregon, U Conn. Am I out of my league?

I'm generally worried about my GPA, lack of honors thesis and publications. I will have been out of school for 2 years by next fall and I know what I want to do, so I would really like to do apply now. What has been your experience applying to developmental programs?

I'm an international also applying to Arizona State (along with 9 other schools).
