  1. I'm a parent of a student who has just received his GMAT score and it placed him at the 75th percentile. He's quite disappointed since he has been hoping/planning to get into a very good to excellent university in a math PhD program. Until this single test, I don't think he has ever scored <99th percentile on any math or verbal exam, ever. All his test scores from every level have always been ~99th percentile level, valedictorian, SATs >1570, and last year his GRE verbal & quant as well were all 99th; even the LSAT taken years ago as an undergrad. He just finished a semester completing a BA/MSc math program at a rather large, yet quite average, University. I can't help wondering what this GMAT score will do to his chances of acceptance at the top math schools. He said it's too late to retake before spring applications are due. I would appreciate any comments. btw: He does Not know I'm posting this Q. Thank you.
