Thank you! Makes me feel a bit better. Any recommendations for schools that I'd stand a chance getting into? Anything in the top 50? Also, for my recommendation letters, should I only ask econ professors or would it be wise to throw an a rec from an English professor who knows me well?

Greetings everyone. I'm in my senior year of undergrad and am a bit frantic about my chances of getting into grad school.... I'm just wondering what my chances are for getting into ANY PhD program in political science. I don't have a political science background, but sort of fell in love with the subject after taking an intro course. Unfortunately, I was already well-along in major/minor, so chose not to change to something more relevant. Just concerned that the lack of political science courses will hurt me, along with the low GRE (which I'm hoping to change). Any advice you could offer would be much appreciated! PROFILE: Type of Undergrad Institution: Satellite state school (Top 20 regional university in the South) Major(s): Business Administration - Economics, minor in English Relevant Courses: Business Calc (A-), Statistics for Economics (B-), Intermediate Microeconomics (A), Intermediate Macroeconomics (B-), Finance I (A), Intro to Political Science (A), Great Decisions (3 years - all A's), Advanced Macroeconomics (In Progress), Econometrics (In Progress), Advanced Econometrics (Next Semester), Survey Sampling (Next Semester), Trigonometry (Next Semester), and a bunch of English courses. Undergrad GPA: 3.56 Type of Grad: N/A Grad GPA: N/A GRE: Took it kind of cold the first time... in the 150's on both. Will study and aim for 160's. Letters of Recommendation: Don't have any yet, but will ask some economics professors (and perhaps an English professor if it's advisable). Research Experience: Currently working on some microeconomic research with an econ professor. Teaching Experience: N/A Subfield/Research Interests: Political economy, political theory, political development, and public policy. Other: Editor/writer for a small car magazine.
