Hi all,
Longtime lurker here
I'm wondering how competitive Texas A&M's MPH program is.
I have a lot riding on this acceptance as moving to Texas would end my long distance relationship. I was confident until I saw the excel sheet of acceptance rates posted on SDN...48% at TAMU...
Chance me for policy MPH acceptance? Any thoughts on the program? I'm really passionate about rural health so I would love to get in. I was born in TX and indicated in my SoP that I would love to return.
Senior undergrad
Science major at a large public university, minor in Spanish (fluent)
3.7 cGPA 3.6 sGPA 23 mcat (sigh)
spent 2 summers (3 months each) in South America working on a public health outreach program
1.5 years research in cardiovascular disease (bench work)
2 years president of an anaphylaxis awareness club, training on campus dining staff on safe food preparation
honors thesis project on injury prevention and education in club sports
3 LoR from professors in science and Spanish, 1 strong, 2 so-so letters
Took 2 of the core graduate MPH classes at my school's (highly ranked) PH college as an undergrad, got As, so I'm hoping that pulls me....
Submitted 11/23, won't be complete until 12/15 when my letters get in (verified 1/15 probs)
Thanks for putting up with freak out "what are my chances" threads, you guys are great.
