I also haven't heard anything and I am in the social sciences as well. I spoke to a faculty member from the department (Anthropology) in November, after they went through the October round applications, and he indicated that I had been ranked highly by the department so I had been hopeful that I would get at least an interview for the Gates. I don't suppose anyone has taken a look at older threads to see if/when they send out a rejection email?
