I've been working on women and religion, particularly in Puritan New England. It seems like there aren't that many active early Americanists anymore... Most of the giants have retired (or soon will) and the younger scholars are focusing more on the South or Transatlantic. Is that your sense as well?

I study early America, and the call came in about 1pm Pacific... My impression was that one guy is making all the calls, so it could take some time.

Not yet, but I was told that the notifications would be going out this week.

I got an email from a faculty member last Friday that said I would "shortly" receive the official offer. Are you an Americanist? Maybe the other fields haven't decided yet.

So has anyone contacted them to find out what's what? I haven't heard anything either.
