So I posted somewhere else, but this seems more appropriate... So Harvard or Chicago for 19th Century philosophy of religion? Equal funding. Opinions?

I know that a few years ago they thought about closing their religious philosophy stream, and only have theology. I think this is indicative of their attitude towards religious philosophy which tends to be more theological and conservative (think Barth, Aquinas, etc.). They also seem stronger in early Christian philosophy, and my interests are more 19th century.

Don't even worry. I applied with a 3.4 GPA and horrible GRE's and got into Harvard, Yale, Duke and Chicago! They must look at other things. Besides, it is better to apply and not get in than wonder if you could have.

So, finances being about equal for both programs - Chicago or Harvard for Philosophy of Religion? (also, turning down Yale - hope that helps!)

got into Yale's concentrated program! Does anyone know if these are the more selective programs within the Yale MARs?
