No, but this year my adviser mentioned that they were changing the naming of the title for this stage. If you move onto the next round you will be called a "semi-finalist" . If you move on to the final round after interviews you are now a finalist.

I got to a college that produces many Fulbright scholars and my advisor is in touch with "reliable sources". I'm certain we're hearing back this Friday, January 15th.

Just recieved an email from my adviser that we should be hearing back officially on Friday about semi-finalist/finalist decisions. Ah!!!
