I am yet to hear from Georgia, UCSD and UIUC and worst of all USC. Everyone seems to say I can wait till this month end. -

Hi,
I was finally able to contact the guys at ECE UCSD. The lady said the transcripts wasnt an issue as ECE profs like to look at the paper copy and so the grad office doesnt upload them in an electronic format n hence the status. Wrt admissions, she said PhD decisions should be made by next weekend.

Here is the response I got from UCSD grad admissions. The ECE admissions email is automated.
APPLICANTS for fall 2010 Admissions:
Thank you for your inquiry.
Decisions on admission and rejection will continue to be made until mid-April. Every applicant will receive an email notification of either admission or rejection by April 14th.

Ah Confused Girl, you are here too! A bit of information from a prof at UCSD, the univ policy is to have 10% of the total funding only for non citizens and would mostly end up with the PhDs ... Btw congrats for the deferred admit

Hi, I've applied to Systems PhD admissions too. i called them around 25th and the lady who answered said they were starting to review applications and will send out decisions in a week or two. When I asked her whether any admits were already given, she reluctantly said yes, but very few. -
Heard from reliable sources that UCSD has a visit day next week and most likely admits are invited. Is this true? And does this visit day - likely admits also apply for international students?

Ok, the end of it all might get tragic for me, but it doesnt hurt to speculate ... Anyway the story so far, people who have applied to communications group have started getting the admits. Cool, congrats to ye all Just hoping they show some mercy to people in other areas too So what does UCSD do? take in its PhD applicants generally and then let the 'kids' talk their way around professors or the profs choose the 'kids' they want to advise for the coming years? I read from some Prof webpages that it was the first option that usually was the case. People with admits, how has it been in your case?

Oh Sorry, I thought you'd got in But that might not be far away Btw which number did you call?? Im trying the ext 3580 and always end up in the voicemail and I cant figure whom to call of the gazillion staff in 'people' page

'Under review' and 'No Decision has been made'. But my recos went in a LOT late. Guess thats one more reason for the delay
