  1. I did the first form too, it's good to know this. Kinda a bummer that we have to do this. I'm glad to know that more might be coming with the forms
  2. Hey, Thanks! I certainly hope I do see you! I got a call from the Painting Dept. about the acceptance/award. I haven't received the official letter yet (in west coast). -K
  3. Welp here's me folks: Yale - Interviewed 3/1 Waitlisted 3/11 SAIC - Interviewed 2/28 Accepted w/ Deans Schloarship 3/9 Columbia - Rejected 2/26 UCLA - Rejected 3/2 all for painting (what a ride)
  4. I'm sure it will be around mid day, to no later than 9pm EST. I got the interview conformation at 6pm here in California
  5. Hey buddy, thank you!!!! I got a call from the painting dept about that one scholarship the rest will come after FASFA is assessed. Also Yale said that we will be notified March 12th in our interview letters. I'd be surprised if I got it. They packaged up my paintings to come back today (I got a call from one of the students) and my interview was a bit awkward. So we will see...it would be nice though.
  6. Hey everyone, My Stats as of Today: Yale - interviewed 3/1 will hear back Sat SAIC - interviewed 2/28 Accepted!! 3/8 with Deans Schloarship Columbia- rejected 2/26 via email UCLA- rejected 3/2 via email all for Painting MFA
  7. I noticed the same on mine, I had a friend who was called by Columbia on the weekend but I don't know what they will do if they don't have a number for you.
  8. Thanks for sharing! (For Painting) I applied to: Yale: interview 3/1 SAIC: interview 2/28 Columbia: no news yet UCLA; no news yet
  9. Haha you're awesome. Same thing happened to me but it was just nerves, Think hard and I'm sure it will come to you.
  10. They might give us one later, I registered for the open house 4 months in advance and didn't get a confirmation till the week before
  11. Got an interview!
  12. Yeah the event sounds like fun, I will be at SAIC as well! See you all there
  13. Yeah I feel we should just be patient, I looked at the link (not signed in) and it looks like every space is still available, I think it didn't really go through. Tread lightly
  14. It's supposed to be, but at this rate who knows?
  15. Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's not possible! I think it's up for grabs by anyone at this point.
  16. Everyone it might have been a glitch it's gone from my account now
  17. Yeah it's tough to say, it could be something they put in all the apps and if you get an interview it's reflected in the letter, but that would be an odd system. I wish that didn't happen today so we wouldn't all be on pins and needles...
  18. Hey everyone I checked my status and it says it's waiting for me to schedule an interview yet I don't have an email? I'm confused? Anyone else has this?
  19. Yeah I'm with you all, I'll be at SAIC at the end of the month for interviews as well! We could all be classmates and that is pretty exciting, I'm going to wait to get plane tickets after hearing from Yale, we know on this Friday, so I figure I could bounce from there to New Haven if needed.
  20. Not really, it was kind of an odd set up. I met mostly 2nd years in the program. But I can say that most of the people were making very different work from one another. One of the folks did very intersecting printmaking and we did a residency at the same print shop in Berkeley,CA, another person did large (and I mean large) like 120 x 80 in abstract scrolls that went from the ceiling to the floor and he took almost ten years off of school. So I am confident that it was an intentionally mixed bag yet mostly abstract and highly "conceptual"
  21. Hey, My journey was just to the open house, so I went without work. I'm going to go the route of shipping it. It could be the about the same cost as gas across country with my full size Chevy Sliverado. One of the grad students I met there told me he rented a large truck and only brought one painting to his interview and got in to not only Yale but Columbia and SAIC, he was amazing. They all had such eclectic ways they delivered their work and different stories about the interviews across the board. I truly don't think Yale looks for any one mold, just a painter who knows who they are and isn't afraid to break a rule or two, even their rules.
  22. Hi Everyone, my name is Kevin, long time looker/first commenter. I went to the open house this year in New Haven and the director of graduate studies gave us a time line as to when to expect to hear from them. February 5th is the day she said we would hear back about preliminary decisions this year, our interviews will be scheduled for the week of February 29th, and the final decisions will be emailed by March 11th. I saw what looked like the individual that recevied an interview on here as well and throughly freaked out with all of you but I'm sure the 5th is when we will know. Best of luck to you all, even though Yale would be a dream come true for many of us, I know for myself that being a great artist is the first goal and a rejection or acceptance from them will not define that about my practice. That being said fingers crossed for everyone here as only 70 folks get selected for the interviews and if anyone gets an interview please share! P.s.- if ya'll want anymore feedback from my time up in new haven just say the word. I'd love to chat more about that trip, as I am a west coaster that made the pilgrimage. take care!
