Agreed, but hey, at least you and others received email responses! I've emailed twice in a month and for some reason haven't even received a reply.

I love this thread. It's so nice to collectively stew in embarrassments. Application season was pretty much the worst portion of my life to date, and as soon as it was over I had a full month of just straight up grad school apathy in which I barely touched my computer. After the first result was in -- a rejection, naturally -- I decided to look at my application materials with fresh eyes. One SoP had three typos. I had read it 5 times before submitting (5 minutes before the deadline) and had somehow missed them every single time. Another had a blatant grammatical error. And I was mortified to find out that I had spelled the name of a POI incorrectly in another. The week that followed these discoveries was a very bad week indeed.

Drats... I really want to commit to a program. Plus at this rate I have no idea how I would be able to schedule a visit out there before the national deadline with such short notice if I did get accepted... Hopefully we hear back soon.

Welp, it's March 15th and I've heard absolutely nothing still. My application status just says it's been received. I'm a pretty patient person and haven't contacted anyone yet, but at this point I think it may be necessary

Congratulations to everyone! This is my first post on here, I lurked a lot during my applications process and found it to be a very valuable resource. I received my acceptance on 2/22, but I am still very excited to say that I was accepted to SUNY Buffalo's PhD with funding and a dean's fellowship (interestingly enough, I realize now that their site reports that candidates are only eligible for nomination if they get a certain Qual and an AW score 4.5+. I only got a 4 on my AW -- I blanked so hard, it was awful.) I was rejected from Ohio State very early on in the game and heard nothing until Buffalo. I'm waiting on Penn State still before I accept Buffalo's offer and I've heard absolutely nothing from them yet... I'm anticipating a rejection.
