This reply comes late, but maybe it will still be helpful to you or others.
The short answer: It can only help!
The schools I applied to had places for publication history and teaching history to be included. One of the applications had an optional CV upload space.
If you find during the application process that there isn't a specific place for these items, absolutely include them elsewhere! If appropriate, try incorporating that info in your SOP or have an extra LOR from a supervisor-type that works with you in tutoring or can speak for your freelance publications. I say "extra LOR" because you still want all those important academic recommendations.
Best of luck!

Looks as though Vanderbilt's Fiction MFA program has sent out (some) acceptances. The newest post this morning shows a "wait listed" status.
Anyone in the forums waiting to hear from Vanderbilt's Poetry MFA program? I haven't seen any results posted for it yet.

Currently waiting in uncontrollable angst to hear back on my Fall 2016 applications, I'm happy to distract myself by responding to this 2017 thread.
For the 2016 year, I applied to only two schools: a state school and Vanderbilt.
Having almost no publications under my belt, I'm completely relying upon my writing sample, LOR, and SOP. Thankfully, my undergraduate gpa is high and my gre scores good (but not impressive - I may retake).
I fully expect to be rejected - prepare for the worst, right?
If that happens, my contingency plan is to apply again (like an insane person).
For 2017, I'll be adding the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia to my list.
I'm also considering low residency programs in the south but only those that offer funding. I'm a bit limited geographically for the next two years, otherwise I'd branch out.
Maybe I won't *have* to apply for the 2017 year. Maybe I'll be accepted somewhere this go round...
But if not... I'll send off the new applications later this year and go through this waiting-for-judgment horror once more!

There is a website called The MFA Years, and it looks like they make a handy reference list for MFA applicants to see which schools have started sending out decisions.
Find the list here: http://themfayears.com/2016/01/16/2016-notifications/
As of this posting, it was last updated on Feb 17th.
Of course, we can find these results by searching through GradCafe but if you applied to multiple schools, this may help you.
Below are the current results!

Programs that have notified so far according to GradCafe results. This does not necessarily mean they are done notifying. Programs are listed in alphabetical order.
