U Chicago is ranked (according to US News and World Report) as a top ten dept. WashU is in the top 20. UVA and GT are somewhere in the mid 30's. However, I don't put much stock in the US News rankings (as they are two years old and, I think, based mostly on faculty perception of reputation) I applied to UVA and Chicago. I was accepted to UVA, and I am very much considering the school since it is very strong in the subfield I want to do. I have not heard from Chicago and like one of the posters above, I am expecting a ding. I assumed that they made all other offers already. Congrats if you got into those schools you listed! You have very good options.

Hey JJH, Congrats on your acceptances! Will you be at the Wisconsin admit weekend? Also, I applied to Minn. I wonder why they are taking so long. Last year, they had already notified admits and rejects around the third week of Feb.

Hi Lindsayk, My emphasis will be on Modern. What about you? UVA admit day is in late March (30-31). I received my funding package from UVA, but I also know that they continue to make financial aid decisions until early March, so you should hear soon. Congrats on your other admit (Chicago). You must have been a really impressive candidate! I also applied there but I don't think I was accepted since some people have already heard.and I have not Oh well, I will just wait for my rejection in the mail. I received acceptances from UVA, Wisc, and Irvine. Rejected from Yale a while back. Lindsayk, I noticed you got into UVA. What is your subfield? Mine is theory.
