  1. I'm thinking about the job market. I know there is no guarantee and the market is grim, but would I be better off doing a HOS from Harvard or doing History from one of the other schools? Since my focus is Latin American history, Mexico, etc. I wonder if one way would give me more options on the market than another.

  2. I applied to one History of Science program and the rest History. I was accepted to Harvard's HOS. I am a little hesitant about leaving the field of "History."  I am unfamiliar with how History of science programs work. Harvard has its own department. I've spoken with my POI and it all sounds amazing, perfect, dreamy, and like I will get solid training. I'm just hesitant and it's all a bit overwhelming. Especially with the cost of living in Cambridge.  I was also accepted to UChicago, UTAustin, Brown, and Duke.  I study medicine and healing practices in Mexico, 18th and 19th centuries. I feel torn, but leaning towards Harvard.  I hope I will feel more certain after visiting the places.

  3. Hi everyone!

I am a semi finalist for Mexico. Is anyone else here wanting to research in Mexico? Also does anyone know if you have to send in all of your transcripts if you have some transfer credits in getting your BA? I am at MA level now, still wondering if I need to send everything in or just my final BA degree transcript and MA transcript.

Good luck with the interviews everyone!

Historically, all puns intended, they have given a lot of awards to historians. That being said, who knows? For my interview, I had 8 panelist in total of which 4 were historians. What about you?

That's great! I had 6 people, all historians. The interview was an amazing experience.

I worked with T. Rugeley and S. Evans and D. Chappell.  I was good friends with C. Kennedy.

Hmmmm, well I know all those people some what. Do you think Fulbright would give several history research grants? I hope so! This is so exciting!

I'm not totally sure if it's listed as fully for all countries (and not sure if it is listed at all for ETA, or if so, where it is listed) but the Fulbright website shows how many study/research grants on these pages http://us.fulbrightonline.org/countries/selectedcountry/ireland I linked Ireland as the example (8 partnership awards and one open award), but you can go check other countries on that list as well. Hope that helps!

History yes! You too? This link shows numbers of grants.

OU or OSU? I too am waiting to hear from Mexico.

Cool! I was wondering where all the Mexico people were at (since they have 31 research grants wow)! I am applying from OU, what about you?
