  1. Hey Mindy! I haven't heard back from Augusta yet sadly, though I was also the last batch of applicants interviewed. I was told I should hear a reply before April. Anxiously checking my email for decisions. I came into the field blind as well. I had few professors who knew about the field, so I had to rely on some of the feedback I got when I sent in a preliminary portfolio to the schools before app season and examining the level of artistry in sample portfolios. Strangely enough, one of my former upper-division psychology professors actually was the one most familiarity with the field.
  2. whoa, I was actually looking for medical illustration information here (and in other sites) for months, and I'm not sure how I missed this thread. Nice to meet you, everyone! Great to know I'm not alone pursuing this field. How was the app process for everyone? I graduated last May and spend the past few months revamping my entire portfolio. and it was brutally stressful but amazing to see how much I improved in just a few months, since almost none of my professors in my undergrad knew about the field to help me figure out what to watch for in my portfolio. I had to do a lot of trial and error on my part. The waiting game has been brutal for me - got rejected from Toronto and Hopkins early this year, but came back from my interview with Augusta recently and it was amazing getting to talk to the faculty and students about their experiences. However, I also JUST got rejected from UIC today (no interview offer) which is a bummer they took a while to get back to me. I'm super nervous if I don't get in this year as if I'll have to figure out how else to improve my portfolio all over again. P.S. anyone heard back from the scientific illustration program at CSUMB yet?
